My Final Major Project explored the juxtaposition of synthetic outdoor wear within the natural surroundings of the Lake District. I explored the creation of form through composites and finishings, in addition to knit structures.
Fabricated Earth explores how we co-exist with our surroundings, showcasing a concept of synergy between textiles and the outdoors. Knit structures draw inspiration from the formation and terrain of the Lake District while the narrative of ‘synthetic vs natural’ is presented through the use of colour and fibre.
